You're receiving this letter to notify you that your employment with (firm name) has been terminated effective (include date here). Since the jobholder did not do anything to bring about their dismissal, the idea is to not blame the jobholder. The employee lay off form can be a strong line of defense if you become involved in litigation about terminating a jobholder. Now that you have prepared your employee handbook, you must be certain to follow through with it.
